Serve Court Orders in New York
Court orders — including preliminary injunctions, restraining orders, and orders to comply — carry legal force the moment they are properly served. A defendant who has not been properly served cannot be held in contempt for failing to comply. Correct, documented service is not a formality; it is what makes the order enforceable.
What we do
How we handle court orders
We serve court orders on the named respondent or defendant at a residential, commercial, or employment address. Personal delivery is the standard method under CPLR 308. Our servers document time, location, and the manner of service, and a notarized affidavit is returned to you on completion.
Timeline
Most court order service is completed in 3 to 7 business days. For orders requiring immediate compliance or contempt applications, same-day and rush service are available.
Pricing
Residential service in NYC and Long Island starts at $135. Statewide individual service starts at $175. Corporate entity service is $115 statewide.

Questions about serving court orders
- What if the subject of the order is actively avoiding service?
- We make up to three attempts at different times across different days. If personal service fails, we can advise on substituted service under CPLR 308(4) or affix-and-mail service. Evasion does not stop the clock on a contempt application permanently.
- Do you serve TROs and emergency orders?
- Yes. Temporary restraining orders and emergency injunctions often have immediate service requirements. Call us directly for any matter requiring same-day or after-hours service.
- Can the order be emailed to you for service?
- Yes, we accept PDFs via email. We print the documents on our end and serve the full document set.
