How long does process serving usually take?

Most standard New York process service is completed within 3 to 7 business days, including up to three attempts at the address. If you have a court deadline, tell us up front and we will work the matter accordingly. Same-day and rush options are available — request a quote.

What areas do you serve?

All five NYC boroughs, Nassau and Suffolk counties (including the East End with a possible surcharge), Westchester, Hudson Valley, the Capital Region, and the rest of New York State. We also cover New Jersey and Connecticut directly, with nationwide and Hague Convention international service through vetted partners.

What is the difference between standard and rush service?

Standard service is scheduled into our normal route and completed within roughly a week. Rush service is prioritized for same-day or next-day attempts and is quoted individually based on the address and document type. Same-day service inside NYC and Nassau is almost always possible if requested early enough in the day.

Can you serve on weekends or after hours?

Yes. Evening and weekend service is available, particularly when a defendant is known to be hard to find during business hours. These are quoted individually since the staffing and timing are non-standard.

What if the defendant is evading service?

Multiple-attempt service is built into every standard tier — we attempt at different times of day and across different days. If the defendant continues to evade, we can pivot to substituted service under CPLR 308(4) or, depending on the situation, recommend a skip trace, surveillance assist, or an alternate address. We will tell you honestly when it is time to escalate.

How do you handle the affidavit of service?

Every personal service comes back with a notarized affidavit of service prepared by the server. We can email a PDF immediately on completion and mail or courier the original to your office. Affidavits are court-ready and meet CPLR and applicable RPAPL formatting.

Do you handle landlord and tenant notice service?

Yes. We serve 3-day, 10-day, and 30-day notices under RPAPL, including additional notice tiers required by the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act. Notices come back with a notarized affidavit ready for any subsequent summary proceeding.

Can I file directly without serving?

Absolutely. Court filings, document retrievals, courthouse research, index number purchases, and skip traces can all be booked on their own from the Filings & Retrievals page. You do not need to also serve process to use those services.

Do you offer mobile notary?

Yes. Our commissioned notaries travel across NYC and Long Island. Book the notary product that matches the documents and add the mobile travel fee. For loan signings and high-volume notary work, request a custom quote.

Who actually performs the work?

Notarizations are performed in-house by Notary Publics commissioned by the New York Secretary of State. Process serving is routed to our established serving partners who hold the required New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection licensing. We act as the customer-facing intake and billing party so you have a single point of contact, accurate paperwork, and a notarized affidavit of service back in your hands.

What does Hague Convention service mean?

The Hague Service Convention is the international treaty that governs how legal documents are served across borders in member countries. For international defendants, we coordinate Hague-compliant service through the appropriate Central Authority and produce the certificate of service the court will expect.
